Egypt’s Oil Minister meets with representatives of Italian oil and gas firms


Hend Soliman (Assadakah Cairo) - Egypt’s Oil Minister Tarek el Molla met with the representatives of the Italian oil and gas. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 5th edition of Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2022) in the presence of the Italian ambassador to Cairo Michele Quaroni. “Italy is an important partner of Egypt in the industry of oil and gas which saw several partnerships with Italian firms, foremost of which the giant group of Eni that is considered the biggest producer of oil and gas in Egypt,” el Molla confirmed. The Egyptian minister took a stock of the opportunities available in the upstream sector in Egypt. “Expanding the industry and programs of using natural gas comes within the framework of national efforts meant to achieve energy transition,” said el Molla, adding “the projects of energy efficiency and decarbonization present new opportunities for the Italian companies operating in Egypt.” El Molla called upon the Italian and world companies to partake alongside the petroleum sector in these fields. Some 49 Italian companies are partaking in EGYPS which was opened by President Abdul-Fattah al Sisi yesterday.
